Construction of the Pharma SOLIDA Launch Facility for Bayer (Leverkusen Chempark)
Investment: €275 million; 2019 – 2024
Initiation and successful execution of the first large-scale IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) project in German pharmaceutical, plant, and industrial construction.
The “New Launch Facility (SOL-1)” at Bayer marked the first implementation of a complex pharmaceutical and plant construction project in Germany using the (IPD) approach.
Services included: initiating the IPD methodology, designing the contractual structure including multi-party agreements, early involvement tendering and procurement, establishing and moderating the Project Management Team (PMT), defining shared target systems, and setting up KPI and bonus models.
A key focus was the use and continuous improvement of agile methods such as Lean Construction and Last Planner® System, as well as establishing integrated work structures including co-location, Project Integration Teams (PIT), and interdisciplinary decision-making formats.
Construction of Central Laboratory for Microbiology and Virology (University Hospital Düsseldorf) – 2025 – ongoing
Advisory and coordinating activities during the early phase of project development and tendering using the IPD model.
Activities included: strategic project preparation and organization, contract and compensation model (IPD), tender preparation and partner selection, project methodology and working methods, schedule planning and structuring, communication, coordination, and documentation.
New OP Center Construction Project (University Hospital RWTH Aachen) – 2026 – present
Advisory and coordinating activities within the IPA project EOP during the early project development and procurement phases under the IPA delivery model
(Strategic project preparation and organizational structuring, development and adaptation of the multi-party agreement (MPA) and commercial model, preparation and execution of procurement and partner selection procedures including assessment centers, structuring of procurement packages and project interfaces, preparation of technical tender documentation, as well as coordination, communication, and project documentation)
Expansion and Renovation of the ARA Birs Wastewater Treatment Plant (Basel, Switzerland) – 2025
Advisory support and content guidance for a bidding team within an IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) tender process.
Activities included: IPD workshops, contract training, team formation, compensation system design, role clarification, development of a shared project culture, KPI/bonus model, and bidding strategy.
